The 2017-18 champions face one of the form teams this season in Avto. This game should possibly show the public some direction in which the rest of the season could go for both teams, long before they might possibly be involved in some fierce play-off battles. Avto as usual travel in style, still using the Meridian Airbus A320 that wears the SAAD Group colours.

Avangard Omsk vs. Jokerit Helsinki

The Omsk side has been playing really well, despite having to stage most of its home matches in the Moscow suburb of Balashikha, more than 2000kms away from home. Yury Lyapkin Arena has become their own little fortress and Jokerit, on the start of a special road trip with just two matches in the Moscow Oblast, will look to steal some points:
